Hi everyone. I've taken the plunge and bought a second hand AXYZ cnc 4008.
The AXYZ PANELBuilder software includes both 2D and 3D functionality as well as nesting and automatic toolpath creation. It has been designed to significantly reduce the time that programmers require to create the large quantities of standard panels they have to design on a day to day basis. We designed the signfaces using Delcam’s Artcam 2009 Express and Gerber Scientific Products’ Composer 3.6 software, and fed the design into AXYZ Toolpath for Windows, our AXYZ 5010 6 x 10-ft., CNC flatbed router’s onboard program. I was looking at buying a similar AXYZ router but was told that I would need to upgrade the control as the old one can only work with Windows 98 and there is no support for the older Toolpath software that is used to control these machines. The upgrade was around $3,000 depending on the options. A downloadable zip file that includes installable Toolpath version 2.9.0.6 and AMC OS 9.92. This version is compatible with Windows 7. I'd like to get Aspire but have a few technical type questions
I have to run windows xp as the controller is of the old type so says AXYZ. Can I still use aspire?
Will I need to purchase a post processor for aspire to work?
At the moment the machine only uses tool path but I'd like to use Apire and some sort pf package that I can draw simple shapes to cnc straight from the cnc machine.
AXYZ have said it may be worth upgrading to a a2mc controller but at £9000 its a bit steep and cant really work out if its worth upgrading. What are the benefits.
Lots of questions so I'm sorry. I'm fine with the opporation of cnc's but I literally have just started looking into how they actually work and its proving to be quite complicated.
